Lawrence 'Larry' Elmer Brelsford, Sr., age 79, of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. Born in Yardley, he was a lifelong area resident.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a manager with Public Service Electric and Gas for 37 years. He then worked as a Lower Makefield Township Crossing Guard. He was a proud Army Veteran. Larry was a 60 year member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge, F.&A.M., the Scottish Rite, and the Crescent Temple. Mr. Brelsford was also a member of the Trenton Kiwanis Club, and volunteered as an assistant baseball coach with the Morrisville Little League. Additionally, he enjoyed golf, woodworking and travel, and was an avid Eagles Fan.
Son of the late Warren and Clara (Dixon) Brelsford and brother of the late David Brelsford, he is survived by his wife of 51 years Judith (McClure) Brelsford, two sons Lawrence 'Bart' Brelsford of Tobyhanna, PA and Brent Brelsford of Tannersville, PA, three granddaughters Amber Brelsford (& Nick Milewski), Courtney (& Ricky) Andujar, and Hunter Brelsford (& Alex Ferrente), a great grandson Ricky Andujar, a sister-in-law Meriam Brelsford, a brother-in-law Rick McClure, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service with Military Honors at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. The Rev. Wendy Bellis, Pastor of the Morrisville United Methodist Church, will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions in Larry's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
