Loretta Waite (muccie)

June 27, 1922 — October 4, 2013

Loretta (Muccie) Waite, age 91, a longtime Yardley resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Sierra Oaks in Bensalem. Born in Trenton, NJ, she lived in Yardley for 15 years before moving to Sierra Oaks for 3 years. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Waite was the Executive Vice-President of Morrisville Maintenance Company for 30 years. She then founded and was publisher and editor or Delaware Valley Magazine. Mrs. Waite loved to write. She worked in San Francisco as a Journalist where she started the Stork Gazette Magazine (for pregnant women). Loretta was an artist who loved to paint. She attended both the Philadelphia Institute of Fine Art and the San Francisco Institute of Fine Art. Mrs. Waite was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Waves.Daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Tumillo) Muccie, and loving wife of the late Charles L. Waite, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert C. and Pamela Waite of Morrisville, PA and William N. and Vickey M. Waite of Fountainville, PA, 3 sisters Madeline Smith of Penns Park, PA, and Gloria Gray and Dorothy Palmieri, both of Neptune, NY, 5 grandchildren Michele (and husband Frank) Icavano of Middletown, NJ, Melissa (and husband Matt) Kutalek of Morrisville, Thomas Waite of Morrisville, PA, Jeffrey Waite of Brooklyn, NY, and Bobby Waite, 4 great grandchildren, Dylan, Reece, Daniella, and Peyton, and many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her life celebration at 8 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. The Rev. Ken Shemilia, Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Morrisville, will officiate. Interment in Newtown Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 PM until time of services at the funeral chapel.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Waite's name may be sent to Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 297, Philadelphia, PA 19105-0297.
