Margaret “Peggy” Richards-Hagy, age 93 of Yardley, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Arden Courts of Yardley. Born in Trenton, Peggy was a resident of Yardley for over 60 years.
Peggy was a graduate of William and Mary College in Virginia and earned her Masters Degree from Drexel University. She was an English teacher in Hamilton High School for many years, and then became the Librarian at the High School. Throughout her life, she was very fond of art, music, books, and traveling abroad. After retiring, she was an active member of the American Association of University Women, advocating for women and girls and helping them attain scholarships and grants.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Mae (Neff) Richards, wife of her first husband, the late Bertram Mott, Jr. and of her second husband, Kenneth Hagy, and sister of the late Robert Richards, she is survived by her son Ken Mott, her daughter and son-in-law Tasha Mott and Roger Elkin, three step daughters and their spouses, Susan Hagy and Jeff Sacks, Sharon Hagy and John Leonard, and Diane Hagy and Bill King, a step son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Vicki Stones, eight grandchildren (Nicolai, Brett, Ryan, Lexi, Ian, Aubrey, Rebecca and Alison) and several great grandchildren.
Her services and interment in Newtown Cemetery will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a memorial contribution, in Peggy’s name, to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alzheimers.org).
