Maria Mercado

Maria Mercado, age 91, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Born in Puerto Rico, she lived in Trenton before moving to Morrisville 28 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in the textile industry. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, as well as watching her Spanish Novelas (soap operas). Maria was a member of the Morrisville Senior Center.Daughter of the late Francisco and Juana (Pagan) DeJesus, and wife of the late Gregorio Mercado, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Luisa and Raymond Gonzales of Morrisville, 2 grandchildren, Raymond Gonzales, Jr. and Elizabeth Gonzales, 2 great grandchildren Raymond Gonzales III and Hunter Gonzales, and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Interment will follow in Morrisville Cemetery.Friends may call Thursday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral chapel.
