Maria M. (Figueroa) Nieves

Maria M. Nieves, age 80 of Trenton, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home with her son by her side on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Nieves lived in Morrisville, PA for over thirty years before moving to Trenton eight years ago.

Maria loved sewing and crocheting and utilized her sewing talents throughout her career in the furniture manufacturing industry. She also enjoyed cooking and traveling, especially to Hawaii and Canada.

Daughter of the late Jovino and Maria De Los Angeles Diaz Figueroa, wife of the late Francisco Nieves, mother of the late Pepito Nieves, and sister of the late Gladys Diaz, Ismael and Samuel Figueroa and Jose O. Garcia, she is survived by three children, Iris Marti and Edgardo Rodriguez of Morrisville, Francisco Nieves, Jr. of Trenton and Diana and Marto Mendoza of Morrisville, five siblings, Aida Gonzalez of Trenton, Daniel Figueroa of Buffalo, NJ, Miguel Figueroa of Hamilton, NJ, Ricardo Figueroa of Yardley and Abigal Navas of Hamilton, NJ. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 from 9-11 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Masks must be worn, and all COVID-19 protocols will be followed. No hugging or touching will be allowed, and spacing will be strictly enforced.

The immediate family will have a private service (livestreamed on this website) at 11 AM on Dec. 5th at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Cemetery, River Rd., Yardley. The committal service is open to the public and others who could not attend the private service.
