Marie T. Esslinger (burke)

Marie T. "Aunt Sissy" Esslinger, age 89, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Aria Torresdale Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she had lilved in Warminster, PA before moving to Morrisville 30 years ago.Prior to her retirement, she was employed in retail sales with Hallmark, Clover, Butch's Auction, and J.C. Penney. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, PA, and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Yardley. Mrs. Esslinger enjoyed puzzles, mystery books, and cryptograms. She simply loved chocolate.Daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Manning) Burke, wife of the late Edward F. Esslinger, and mother of the late Edward T. Esslinger, she is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law Marie M. and Andrew W. Johnsen of Morrisville, Helen and Charles Vogel of Hatboro, PA, a son and daughter-in-law Thomas E. and Quiettra Esslinger of Mt. Royal, NJ, a daughter -in-law Karene Esslinger, a sister and brother-in-law Monica and Joseph Gangloff of Philadelphia, 2 sisters-in-law Evelyn Burke and Regina Burke, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her funeral mass at 11 AM on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Rd., Yardley, PA. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.There will be no calling hours.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions, in Mrs. Esslinger's name, be send to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 31805 or to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th St and Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.
