Marie Therese (Blechl) Zeis

Marie Therese Zeis, born February 27, 1928, died peacefully on the morning of June 28, 2023.  She is survived by her two sons, Rev. Gabriel Zeis, T.O.R. and Joseph Zeis.  Born and raised in Trenton, she and her late husband, Joseph Zeis, Sr., moved to Morrisville and raised their family.  Marie was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church.  Before moving to Morrisville she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Trenton.  She was a graduate of St. Mary's Cathedral High School in Trenton and attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School.  She was the daughter of the late Adam and Mary (Feldenzer) Blechl and sister to Adam, Jr.  She spent her early years working for her father in their business, Adam's Dry Goods on South Broad Street in Trenton until the business closed.  She played piano, loved opera, read avidly and prayed the rosary daily.  Marie loved the crafts programs at the Morrisville Senior Servicenter.  She had a great sense of humor and her humility was one of her greatest virtues alongside generosity, as could be attested to by the many charities she supported.  She and her husband bowled often at Delmor Lanes.  She loved to dance and took ballroom lessons for many years.  Her green thumb was always successful at producing an abundant harvest of tomatoes shared with the neighbors.  She loved her neighbors and always said it was a blessing to be among them.  She is survived by various cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved Goddaughter Carol.  She will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her Memorial Mass at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA  19067.  Her interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Trenton, will be held privately.

Friends may gather at the church from 10:30 to 11 AM on July 25th at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions, in Marie's name, be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, (www.stjude.org).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
