Martin G. Marshall, Sr., age 76, of Lehighton, PA, formerly of Morrisville, PA, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Born in LaPorte, IN, Marty was a lifelong Morrisville resident until retiring to NC and then Lehighton, PA.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator with U.S. Steel for 26 years. Martin was a proud Navy Veteran. Those who knew him, know that his favorite pastime was fishing with family and friends and fellow River Rats on the Delaware River. Marty also enjoyed hunting, and was a founding member of the Hemlock Rod and Gun Club. Above all, Marty was a devoted husband and proud father and pop-pop.
Son of the late Calvin and Martha (Taylor) Marshall, he is survived by his wife of 53 years Carolyn “Babe” (Conrad) Marshall, a daughter and son-in-law Brenda and John Cappiello of Hulmeville, PA, two sons and daughters-in-law Martin, Jr. and Tracey Marshall of Levittown and William and Trish Marshall of Levittown, three brothers and two sisters-in-law Calvin and Patricia Marshall of Yardley, Richard and Sandra Marshall of Wyalusing, PA, and Thomas Marshall of White Haven, PA, two sisters and brothers-in-law Jean and Ed Casoni of Hampton, CT and Martha and John Little of Fallsington, PA, a sister-in-law Shirley Sconza, a brother-in-law Gary (Cindy) Conrad, seven grandchildren: Michael (Kate) Cappiello, Lindsay Cappiello, Martin G. III ( Jenna) Marshall, Matthew, Alyssa, Madisyn and Hailey Marshall, four great grandchildren Lucas, Raegan, Leland and Rowen Marshall, and several dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday evening, January 13, 2019 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. and will be officiated by The Rev. Gary Taylor, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Morrisville. Interment will be held privately.
