Mary T. Dawson

Mary T. (McGlinchey) Dawson, age 75, of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. Born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, Mrs. Dawson moved to the United States when she was 12 years old. She lived in Philadelphia and graduated from Little Flower High School, moving to Yardley 38 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Dawson was employed as a reservation sales agent with Amtrak for 35 years, where she received the Presidential Award. She was a member of the Big Sisters, was an amazing cook, and loved yard sales. Mary enjoyed shopping at and supporting St. Mary's Thrift Shop. Wife of the late Robert J. Dawson, Sr., and mother of the late Stephen John Dawson, she is survived by a son Robert J. (Carole Moore) Dawson, Jr. of Philadelphia, a daughter Amy Maria (John) Diesel of Worcester, PA, a sister Maureen (Richard) DeFranco of Cinnaminson, NJ, three grandchildren Olivia, Johnny, and Lauren Diesel, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her funeral mass at 11 AM on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 728 Big Oak Rd., Yardley, PA. Her interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, River Rd., Yardley, PA. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mrs. Dawson's name be sent to St. Mary's Thrift Shop, 140 N.
