Mary Ellen Matthias, age 75, of Morrisville, PA died on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong Morrisville resident.

Mrs. Matthias was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Trenton. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Morrisville and a long time T-ball coach with the Morrisville Little League. Grammie, as most knew her as, especially adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren especially attending their sporting events.

Daughter of the late Charles and Sophia (Wascova) Walker, she is survived by her loving husband Edward N. Matthias, Jr., a daughter and son-in-law Barbara A. and Francis G. Bower of Morrisville, two sons and daughters-in-law Edward N. III and Lisa A. Matthias of Levittown and Charles W., Sr and Nicole D. Matthias of Levittown, two sisters, Ann Wolinski of NY and Sandra McClure-Doyle of DE, 12 grandchildren and 3 grandchildren-in-law Cassandra S. and Steven Mark Clemens, Magnum A., Colt F. and Spencer M. Bower, Charles E. and Heather A. Matthias, Brittany A. and Michael V. McTague, Anthony J. Matthias, Valarie E. Barraclough, Skyler N., Layla A., Charles W. Jr. and Evelyn H. Matthias, 10 great grandchildren, Maverick A. Bower, Sophia C. Clemens, Stella R. Bower, Jackson Edward Clemens, Carson M. Schaeffer, Mark M. Wheeler, III, Bella G. and Myla K. Matthias, and Ellie R. and Baby McTague, and several nieces, nephews and friends who have become family over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at 12 noon on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, followed by her interment in Morrisville Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday evening from 7-9 PM and on Saturday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the National Cancer Institute. Please include a note that your donation is in memory of Mary Ellen Matthias and to be used for NCI research for Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Leukemia.
