Mary Elizabeth Steiner, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away suddenly on May 12, 2020 as a result of a catastrophic stroke at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, with her loving daughter Bobbi by her side. She was 76.
Born in Pottsville, PA, she was a lifelong resident of Bucks County and moved to Ft Myers, FL in October 2018. She was the daughter of the late Samuel F. Elonis Sr. and the late Thelma E. (Kimmel) Elonis. Mary was a 1961 graduate of Pennsbury High School, Fairless Hills. She worked years in the banking field, and then retired in November 2012 after her dedication of 28 years at Middletown Township where she worked in Licensing and Inspections.
Mary will be missed by her daughter Bobbi L. Steiner of Morrisville, PA, her two beautiful granddaughters, Rachael Lynn Groman (fiancé Christopher Dew) of Ft Myers, FL and Jamie Lynn Ruth of Morrisville, PA. She was blessed to have her two great grandchildren, Clayton Christopher Dew and Layla Elizabeth Dew. Mary has two surviving brothers, Samuel F. Elonis, Jr. (Toni) of Morrisville, and her “baby” brother, as she always said, Timothy Elonis of Langhorne. She will also be missed by her friend of the past 15 years, Edward J. Pellegrino, Penndel, PA. She was preceded in death by her late husband Edward E. Steiner, and her brothers, Joseph, Richard and Theodore. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins, and the best of friends. She was a “Me-Me” to everyone.
Mary was a member of the Fallsington United Methodist Church, Fallsington, PA, as well as the Falls Township Fire Co. Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, the beach, long walks, gardening, happy faces, and the sunshine. Ice cream was one of her favorites, but the most important thing she loved was spending time with family and friends making memories. She was the most compassionate person ever and was very strong in her faith. She loved everyone she met, and everyone loved her.
Due to current Coronavirus regulations, a memorial service and life celebration will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
