Megan Jesse Sandel

Megan J. Sandel of Morrisville, Pa. died on October 11, 2024. She was 75 years old. She is survived by her three adult children, Matt Sandel, M.D., of Metuchen, N.J., Kate Bankoske (Dan) of Yardley, Pa. and Pete (Korey Ream) of Morrisville, Pa., along with two grandchildren, Henry and George Bankoske. She is also survived by her husband David E Sandel Jr. 

 Megan was born on December 13, 1948 in the upstate hamlet of Huntington Mills, Pa. to C. Grant Brittingham and Mary Brittingham. She was predeceased by her two sisters Betsy Anderson (Ken) and Barrie White (Lou). Both of her parents were public school teachers, as were her sisters. As a child, Megan moved in 1957 with her family to Levittown Pa. and settled in the Cobalt Ridge section where she lived through adulthood. She graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1966 and from Bloomsburg State College in 1970. 

Following in the footsteps of her parents and both of her sisters, Megan served for 37 years as a first grade teacher at Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School and Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, both in Levittown. She lived her adult years in Langhorne, Yardley and, for the past twenty two years, in the Falls Township section of Morrisville. In retirement she traveled with fellow Bristol Township School District retirees to Europe, Alaska and multiple western U.S. locations. Her interests also included reading novels, doing crossword puzzles, playing pinochle with her former teaching colleagues and, most of all, doting on her grandchildren.

 Burial at the Newtown Cemetery is private. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 West Trenton Avenue, Morrisville, PA. on October  25, 2024 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a time of sharing beginning at 1:30 p.m.
