Michael “Fussy” Zampini, age 70 of Columbus, NJ, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mike lived in Ewing and Morrisville for many years. His last 11 years were spent in Columbus, NJ.
Michael was a graduate of St. Anthony High School in Trenton, spending his time as an altar server. He was self-employed as the owner and operator of Fussy Finish Car Detailing in Morrisville, PA for 50 years, earning him the nickname “Fussy”. Additionally, Mike was a fantastic singer and saxophone player. He performed in many local venues, belonging to several groups, including the “Holiday Five”, “Park Place”, and “After Dark”. Mike was the king of telling jokes, artfully working them into conversation with the phrase “reminds me of a story…..”. When not immersed in his music or his work, he enjoyed cooking, sharing meals with family and friends, solving crossword puzzles, and competing with the contestants on Jeopardy from his living room. His favorite times were spent playing with his grandchildren, making snow angels on the carpet and watching cartoons in the big bed. His great hugs and resourcefulness will be missed. Mike’s many adventures will live on in memories and great stories.
Son of the late Mario and Katherine “Dolly” (Arone) Zampini, he is survived by his long -time partner Nadine Mileski, two daughters Ashley (Fred) Ritter of Yardley, Katherine “Kate” (Jon) Welsford of Yardley, Nadine’s children Lisa Klotz of Fredrica, DE, Ryan (Joelle) Mileski of Chesterfield, NJ, Brad (Jenn) Mileski of Beachwood, a brother Joe Zampini (Germaine Holsman) of Pennington, NJ, a sister Maria DePiano of Charleston, SC, six grandchildren Joel, Willa, Aiden, Rosalie, Freddie and Emma, the mother of his children and friend Dawn Watson, and four nephews Jay (Dana) Zampini, Gary Zampini, David (Jennifer) DePiano and Steven (Jenn Paciotti) DePiano.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 15, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Rd., Morrisville, PA 19067. His interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Trenton, NJ.
Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the church.
