Mike Michael Smith

July 17, 1957 — June 7, 2015

Mike Smith, age 57, of Morrisville, PA, died peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015, surrounded by his family, at Aria Bucks Hospital, Langhorne, PA. Born in Frostburg, MD, he lived there for 21 years before joining the Army, where he became a sergeant. He was a resident of Yardley, PA for 13 years, and spent the rest of his life living in Morrisville, PA.Mike was an Army veteran. He trained in Fort Benning GA, stationed in Fort Riley KS, and served overseas in Ead Kissingen Germany where he served as a Sergeant. Through his hard work and dedication, he achieved the rank of Sergeant E5. He received several awards including an Army Service Award and Overseas Service Award. He also had various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were coin collecting, Native American memorabilia collecting, fishing, camping and hanging out at Penn Warner Lake. When he wasn't working you would most likely find him relaxing on his back deck with friends and family. Son of the late Bernard and Andree (Bendle) Smith, and husband of the late Cynthia Schaefer, he is survived by his daughter Rebecca Anne Smith and her fiancée Michael Smith, his granddaughter Cynthia LeighAnn Smith, his son Wayne Hall, his grandson Brendan Tage Hall, his mother-in-law Constance Schaefer, his brother-in-law Frederick L. Schaefer, Jr., niece Elise Hogan, former wife Laura Donaldson, two brothers Bernard and Tom, two sisters Barbara and Kay, and his lifelong friends, the Truitt family, and many other friends and relatives.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his life celebration at 8 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Burial of his cremated remains will be held privately at the convenience of the family.Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the J.
