Mr. Earl Henry Dorr

The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Earl Henry Dorr, age 92, of Beverly Hills, Florida, were held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes with Pastor Chris Whaley officiating. The received friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the chapel. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.HooperFuneralHome.com. Mr. Dorr was born December 9, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, son of Charles and Caroline (Yocum) Dorr. He died April 3, 2014 in Inverness, FL. Mr. Dorr was an Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He worked as a Civil Inspector in the construction of the USS Kitty Hawk air craft carrier and as Section Chief for Social Security Administration. He moved to Beverly Hills from Mystic Island, NJ 25 years ago. Mr. Dorr was a Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church for 23 years before joining Bible Baptist Church. Mr. Dorr was preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings, Charles, Anna T. and Margaret and a grandson, Brendan Heary. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Martha (Walters) Dorr of Beverly Hills, 4 daughters, Carolyn (John) Heary of Bucks County, PA, Barbara (John) Phillips of Langhorne, PA, Kathleen (Henry) Bevan of Cottage Grove,OR and Patricia Dorr of El Paso, TX, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services in Pennsylvania will be held 10:30 am, Friday, April 11, 2014 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:00 am at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 West Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA.
