Patricia M. Mcgrath

Patricia M. McGrath, age 86, of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, PA. Born in New York, NY, Patricia moved to Yardley in 1963.She was predeceased by her husband Maurice "Mac" McGrath, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage before his passing in 2001. Patricia was devoted to her family, raised three wonderful children and cared for five grandchildren. She enjoyed frequent trips to New York for theater and shopping. She would often stroll the city streets and window shop along Fifth Avenue. An avid reader, her Sunday routine was making a wonderful breakfast, attending Mass and reading the New York Times front to back, always saving the style section for last. She was active in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, where she served as an Eucharistic Minister and led the bereavement group. She will be remembered for volunteering her time assisting the elderly and the disabled. In her later years, she met friends to play bridge, have lunches and enjoy time with her family.Daughter of the late Frank and Mary Hynes, née Mullen, Patricia was predeceased by three sisters - Francis, Mary and Eleanor. Pat is survived by several family members: Michael McGrath of Pollock Pines, CA, Kevin McGrath of Devon, PA, and Maura Eaton and her husband Gregg Eaton of Hawthorn Woods, IL. She will remain in the memories of her grandchildren Sara, Luca, and April McGrath and Connar and Ryan Eaton.Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her memorial mass at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Rd., Morrisville, PA 19067. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.Friends may call Tuesday morning from 10 AM - 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Patricia McGrath's name to St. John the Evangelist Church at the above address.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
