PENNINGTON - Pamela J. Elvington of Pennington, formerly of Lawrence Township, passed away on April 23, 2014. Predeceased by her parents, Cole and Jean Elvington, she is mourned by her many friends and former colleagues. She was a graduate of Caldwell College with a bachelor's degree, and of Columbia University with a master's degree in education. Ms Elvington had taught in elementary school in Lawrence Township before coming to the Ewing Township School District where she taught for over 30 years, mostly in 5th grade. She was an outstanding teacher who was respected and admired by her students. She was dedicated to those children, to their academic progress, and to their enjoyment of the school experience. Her teaching methods enhanced their learning. A great teacher! Ms Elvington had many interests,including being an avid reader, a bird lover, and a gardener. She also enjoyed visiting museums and craft shows. She was a true friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Private graveside services were held on April 30th at the Highland Cemetery in Hopewell, New Jersey with the Rev. A. Rebecca Resch, Pastor of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church officiating.
