Ralph S. Demech, age 86 of Lebanon, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg, PA.  Born in Duryea, PA, Mr. Demech was raised in Morrisville, PA and lived in Lebanon for the past 55 years.

He was a graduate of Morrisville High School, Class of 1956.  Ralph graduated from East Stroudsburg State College and earned his Master's Degree from Kean College.  He was a past member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church and most recently was a member of the Round Valley United Methodist Church in Lebanon, NJ.  Early on, he was employed as a lifeguard at the Morrisville Pools, then started his teaching career at Girard College, where he was active in their swimming program.  He continued teaching Physical Education, Health, and Driver’s Ed Instruction at South Plainfield School District, teaching there for over 30 years and also serving as a football coach at S. Plainfield High School.  He also taught thousands of Central Jersey students how to drive through Hickory Driving School. Ralph was selected to the Lower Bucks County first team football team and eventually voted in as a member of the Morrisville H.S Football Hall of Fame as a four sport athlete (Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track).  Additionally, Ralph was a well-known collector of classic cars, owning English Bulldogs named Jeff, and being a big sports fan.  He enjoyed hunting, vacationing in Beach Haven, NJ, and cruising with family and friends.

Son of the late Patrick S. and Mary A. (Conforti) Demech and brother of the late Patricia Ann (Demech) Serlenga, he is survived by his loving wife Camille (Andrews) Demech, a son Patrick Andrews Demech of Belmar, NJ, two daughters and a son-in-law Tracy and George Toth of Kresgeville, PA and Bonnie Demech of Greensboro, NC., a sister and brother-in-law Arlene Ann (Demech) and Elwyn Wittenborn of Lawrenceville, NJ. Five grandchildren, Haley Toth, Jessie Toth, Nicholas Demech, Hannah and Connor Kubida, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 9:30 AM – 11 AM at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 N. Maple Ave., Morrisville, PA  19067, followed by his funeral service at 11 AM.  His interment will follow in Morrisville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Ralphs name, may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, www.stjude.org).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
