Ralph R. Giese

Ralph R. Giese of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at Symphony Manor, Feasterville, PA with his loving daughters at his side. He was 89.Born in Amery, WI, October 16, 1925, Mr. Giese was raised and lived in Star Prairie, Wisconsin until joining the Navy. He then traveled the U.S. working for Philco-Ford before settling in Morrisville in 1968. While with Philco-Ford, Mr. Giese worked on many classified projects for the US Government, and was instrumental in designing, testing, and perfecting the first zip code readers. Retiring from Ford after 40 years of service, he continued as a consultant to Ford, traveling to Brazil, Portugal, Canada, and Mexico. He enjoyed working on electronics projects at home, as well as gardening and working on cars. Mr. Giese was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII. Son of the late Albert and Emma (Luloff) Giese, father of the late Linda S. Giese Giordano, and husband of the late Zella (Sloan) Giese, he is survived by 2 daughters, Cathie L. Bancroft (Mark) and Terry L. Kubernuk of Morrisville, PA, a brother Al Giese of Sapulpa, OK, 2 grandsons Brian Gusz and Mark Bancroft, and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two sons in laws Bruce Kubernuk and Michael Giordano.His services and interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family, entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com).In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions, in Mr. Giese's name, to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
