Ralph "Chris" Hanson

January 18, 1949 — March 13, 2025

Morrisville, PA

Chris grew up in a 4-bedroom/1-bath row house in Chambersburg, Trenton, NJ with his parents, Betty and Bill, brother Ray, and six close relatives. In the early 1960s, his father designed, and with his family, built their dream brick homestead in Morrisville, PA, where Chris graduated from Pennsbury High School. Into fast cars and weightlifting in high school, Chris never lost his love of cars…or his iron grip.

Chris married Fran Riblett shortly after, and they welcomed a daughter Lisa, and a son Steven. Now, Chris, who wanted to be his own boss, founded Hanson’s Painting. Its slogan, Impeccable Workmanship, aptly described his reputation for quality painting, but it was his warm and playful personality at work and in friendships that is most cherished by everyone who met him. He was deeply loyal and committed to his family and friends, and they knew they could always count on him for any help or support.

A lover of nature, camping, and the outdoors, Chris was a certified Scuba diver and loved canoeing and fishing on the Delaware River, and trips to the New Jersey shore of his childhood vacations. Chris and his beloved second wife Carol drove across the United States with Steven, visiting his father’s family ranch in North Dakota and national parks. Other trips with family were to Mexico, Aruba, the British Isle of Jersey, and France.

Chris and Carol (who predeceased Chris in 2021) also enjoyed visiting his parents at their retirement home at Smith Mountain Lake, VA many times and doing lake house projects. Ultimately, he and Carol realized his personal mission to buy back the family’s brick homestead where he lived loving in the house of his life. There, he died peacefully on March 13, 2025.

Chris will be greatly missed by Lisa Greenemeir of Bordentown, NJ, Steven of Morrisville, PA, brother Ray and his wife Sheri of Thousand Oaks, CA, grandsons Mitchell and Matthew Greenemeir and Gavin Hanson, as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Chris is reunited in eternal peace with his wife, Carol Smith Hanson, and his parents, Milton and Elizabeth Fowler Hanson.

Chris Hanson’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and integrity, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished. He will be profoundly missed yet forever remembered by those who were lucky to be loved by him.

Services and interment will be held at a later date.
