The Reverend John Earl Naegele passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013 at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in the Doylestown, PA area, the son of the late John Jacob and dora (Myer) Naegele. Rev. Naegele graduated from Temple University and Colgate Divinity School, Rochester, NY. After he was ordained as a minister, he served in the Presbyterian churchs of Margaretville and New Kingston, NY. Next he served for many years at the first Presbyterian Church, Stamford, NY, and then moved back to Pennsylvania to be the pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus, PA and was Stated Clerk of Susquehanna and Lehigh Presbyteries. He was named pastor emeritus of this church upon his retirement in 1989. After 40 years in the pastorate, he returned to Bucks County to enjoy his grandchildren.Rev. Naegele is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Najla (Totah) Naegele, their daughter, Barbara and her husband David Clark, granddaughter Kristen and her husband Douglas Castonguay, their daughter, Sylvie, and grandson Jonathan Clark and his fiancee Michelle Schickler.A memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11 AM at the Historic Presbyterian Church of Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 507, N. Second and Cherokee Streets, Emmaus, PA 18049.
