Richard C. Zazzu, age 51, of West Orange, NJ passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was born in Columbus, OH, and was raised in Cherry Hill, NJ until he moved to California to attend and graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Rich lived in many places, from California to Washington state, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, and Arkansas, eventually leading him back to New Jersey, oftentimes relocating for work.
While attending UCSB, Rich worked as a bartender. His quick wit and joyful personality was infectious. He always had a way of making people laugh. If you knew Rich, just the sound of his laugh and his jiggling shoulders was enough to break you down. That easy going personality worked well with his role as an executive sales manager. More than that, he cared deeply, and wanted to take care of the people he loved.
Rich had a passion for both work and travel. Additionally, Rich loved to cook and grill for the people he loved. He was especially proud of his lamb chops. Recently, his love of cars led him to learn how to off-road. Rich’s biggest passion was going to the NY Giants games with his brother, Anthony. He had been going to Giants games since he was 6 years old. He was also looking forward to attending a Raiders game with his dad in Nevada this fall.
Rich is survived by his parents Anthony and Rosalie (Strzelecki) Zazzu of Henderson, NV, his brother Anthony and wife Lisa Zazzu of Yardley, PA, brother Joseph Zazzu of Los Angeles, CA, sister Lisa and husband Peter Monson of Santa Barbara, CA and nieces and nephew Sarah, Emily, Ellie and Levi.
A celebration of Rich’s life will be held privately. However, please feel free to share your special memories and/or photos on Rich’s page for us to capture his time with you. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Rich’s name, may be sent to The Giants Foundation, 1925 Giants Drive, East Rutherford, NJ 07073.
