Robert Morrow Louderback Sr.

Robert Morrow Louderback Sr. of Lansdale, Pa., formerly of Warrington and Philadelphia, passed away peacefully after a brave and hard fought battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. His wife of 59 years, Marjorie (Kohler) Louderback, and family were at his side. He was nine days away from his 83rd birthday. Born in Philadelphia on March 27, 1931, 'Bob' was the son of Herbert D. and Jean Bolton Louderback. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Louderback Baker, and his brother, Herbert D. Louderback Jr. He graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia and Temple University with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing.After college, Bob served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant from 1953 to 1955 as Executive Officer of Transportation at Ft. Monroe, Va.In 1954, he married his high school sweetheart, Marjorie Kohler, and in 1955 joined Gulf Oil Corporation, where he was a sales supervisor until 1985. After 'retiring' from Gulf Oil, Bob accepted a position the next day with British Petroleum as Regional Sales Manager until his second retirement in 1995.Bob enjoyed spending time with people in several organizations, including membership in The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons (Lodge #3). He was also a 40+ year member of Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, sang in the bass section of the Sanctuary Choir, and was an auctioneer/cleanup-crew for the annual Country Fair. Bob also enjoyed volunteering at Doylestown Hospital in the transportation department, earning his 2000 hour award pin in 2010 and named volunteer of the month along with Marge.When Bob and Marge moved to Brittany Pointe Estates in 2001, Bob was elected President of the Resident's Association, where he was instrumental in many improvement initiatives. Over the years, they also acted as 'Shepherds' to many new residents. Bob also served as a speaker at marketing luncheons, helping to show prospective residents the advantages of living in such a wonderful retirement community.Also known as 'Dad,' 'Pops,' 'A-Dad,' 'Bob-O,' 'Banjo Bob,' and 'P.I.T.A Bob,' he was a loving father to three children, Susan Seagreaves (Michael), Lori Louderback, and Robert Louderback Jr. (Barbara). He was 'A-Dad' to four grandchildren, Amy Belloff (Timothy), Andrew Seagreaves, Robert 'Bo' Louderback III, and Anna Louderback. As a great grandfather to Emily Belloff, he was also looking forward to the birth of a great grandson in the next few weeks.Having already donated his body to Temple University School of Medicine, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 in the auditorium at Brittany Pointe Estates, 1001 Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, PA 19446.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Rd., Warminster, PA 18974, or the Good Samaritan Fund at Brittany Pointe Estates.
