Ronald J. Lyons, age 77, of Warrington, PA passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Medical Center on April 3, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Ron resided on Long Island, NY until 1992, he then lived in Yardley, PA from 1992 to 2020. His final home was in Warrington, PA.
In June of 1963, Ron joined the United States Air Force. He became Sergeant in 1966 and retired with honors in June of 1968. Mr. Lyons was a proud veteran; he was First Vice Commander of the local American Legion, Knowles Doyle Post 317 in Yardley, PA. He also dedicated much of his time to giving honors to veterans as a Guardian of Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
Mr. Lyons was a Captain with the Civil Air Patrol, NJ Wing Twin Pines Squadron, and a curator at the Aviation Museum in Willow Grove, PA. When he was not involved with aviation, he was watching the Phillies and Eagles.
Son of the late Thomas Aloyisus and Felicia (Wnorowska) Lyons; Brother of the late Thomas Lyons. Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (Richman) Lyons of Warrington, PA; children, Robert and Barbara Lyons of Medford, NY, Christine Lyons Hatalski of Wading River, NY, and Erin and Chris Jensen of Buckingham, PA; sister, Barbara Gordon (Steve) of Leesburg, FL; grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, Trevor, Tyler, Rylee, and Grace; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Lyons’ service at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 12:30 PM. Friends may gather to share memories of Ron from 11 AM until service.
Military honors and committal will be held at Washington Crossing National cemetery on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ron’s name may be made to the Guardians of Washington Crossing National Cemetery (http://www.guardiansofthenationalcemetery.org).
