Shirley L. (Bruns) Nielsen

Shirley L. Nielsen, age 99 of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept., 29, 2020 at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, PA.  Born in Chicago, IL, Shirley lived in Mahwah, NJ before moving to Yardley 53 years ago.

Having a true love of gardening and flowers, Mrs. Nielsen was a member of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society as well as the Yardley Garden Club.  Among her other interests, she enjoyed playing Bridge, needlepoint and cooking.

Daughter of the late Herman and Irene (Terwilliger) Bruns, wife of the late Donald M. Nielsen and mother of the late Karen Dabbour, she is survived by five children, Linda Galanos of Morrisville, Jill Nielsen of Ringoes, NJ, Barry Ladwig of San Diego, CA, David Nielsen of Santa Fe, NM, and Christopher Nielsen of Hopewell, NJ.  Mrs. Nielsen is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Her services and interment in Emilie United Methodist Church Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
