Stephen Barker

Stephen Barker, age 95, of Morrisville, PA, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, PA. Born in Stoke-Upon-Trent, England, he lived in Morrisville for the past 57 years.Mr. Barker was an apprentice carpenter at the age of 16 in England. Later, he worked in the ship yards in Barrow-in-Furness, England and was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Local Union # 1462 in the United States.Stephen enjoyed gardening, reading, taking walks and carpentry, building many items for family members in his work shop. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and back to England with his late wife, Margaret. Son of the late Robert and Hannah (Bellingham) Barker, husband of 69 years of the late Margaret (Anderson) Barker, he was also predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and May Barker, another brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Emma Barker, a brother-in-law Cyril Priestley, and a son and daughter-in-law Harry and Denise (Finley) Barker. Stephen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Victoria Ann (Mitos) Barker, a sister Margaret Priestley, his grandchildren Sean and Jason Barker, Allyson Paric and Meredith Harrison, his great grandchildren Hayley Barker, Reese Paric, Maiya, Hannah, and Evan Barker, and Mallory and Chase Harrison, several nieces and nephews in the United States and family members in England.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his life celebration at 2 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com).
