Susan M. Kramer (maguire)

Susan Christy Kramer, 90, nee Maguire, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord early Saturday morning. She is survived by her two children, Constance Beadle and J. Scott Kramer, her daughter in law, Mary Beth Kramer, and her four grandsons, Brian Beadle, Douglas Beadle, Jordan Kramer and Jesse Kramer. Born in Motherwell, Scotland, Susan came to the U.S. in 1926, with her mother and two siblings--the three were all under five years old. Never deterred by a diminutive nickname her family supplied her, Susan left a big impact throughout her life. A loving wife of the late John W."Jack" Kramer, her spouse of over 60 years, her family resided in Morrisville for 40 years. A lover of the Jersey Shore, she also resided in North Cape May for almost 25 years.Susan attended Steinert High and Rider College. A thoroughly modern woman before her time, she "did it all" and did it well by being both a mother and a working wife. Beginning as a bookkeeper, Susan managed the office of an industrial concern in Trenton, later Insulated Duct and Cable, Co., for more than 20 years, ending her career as Treasurer of that Company.Susan's focus was always the family despite the importance of her career. Susan's love in life was her grandsons; her beach house was a family oasis for decades. When her children had setbacks, Susan tirelessly tended to her grandsons to fill the breach. Susan lived for the family dinners--at Christmas, her favorite time of year, or any event down the shore where all could gather.Hardworking, dependable and hands-on, Susan was the glue of the family along with its moral compass. She always did the right thing and never placed her interests before any others. To the end, she deflected talk of her needs and thought only of her family. We are truly, as a Scotsman would say, "wee loft" to have had her. May Susan rest in the arms of Jesus.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 1 PM on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W.
