Venus Bray (skarpas)

Venus (Skarpas) Bray, age 85, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA, with her family by her side. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Bray had lived in Morrisville for the past 51 years.Venus was a graduate of Trenton High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the NJ Dept. of Labor and Workforce as a Principal Examiner in the Division of Employer Accounts for 46 years.Mrs. Bray was an active member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being in the Women's Circle Group. She also volunteered for various activities there, including preparing meals and helping in fund raising efforts for the church. She really loved spending summer weekends in Wildwood, NJ with her family. Keeping a full schedule, Sunday dinners with the family were mandatory, and every Wednesday evening was pizza night with her friends at LaVilla. Additionally, Mrs. Bray enjoyed traveling with her dear friends. She was also an avid Eagles fan. A yearly highlight that she always looked forward to was the family 4th of July Extravaganza.Daughter of the late George and Helen (Bastas) Skarpalezas, and wife of the late Willis F. Bray, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Eric S. and Pamela Bray of Richboro, three granddaughters Tanya (& husband Darin) Bunton, Chelsea Doan, and Melissa Bray, a great granddaughter Kaia Bunton, and many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 12 PM on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. The Rev. Wendy Bellis, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Morrisville Cemetery.Friends may call Wednesday morning from 11 AM - 12 PM in the church lounge.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions, in Mrs. Bray's name, be sent to the Morrisville United Methodist Church at the above address.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.
