William J. (Poppy) Finegan, Jr. of Levittown, PA died Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA. He was 91.He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late William Finegan, Sr. and Winifred Barrett. Bill was a resident of Levittown, PA since 1952 moving here from Pennington, NJ. He retired as Office Manager for the John G. Carr Inc. where he had been employed for over 40 years.Bill was an Army Veteran serving during World War II. He received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the Victory Medal and he also received 5 Bronze Stars. He was a graduate of West Catholic High School Class of 1941, graduate of LaSalle University Class of 1949. He also was an avid golfer.He was the beloved husband of Roberta (Riddagh) Finegan. They were married for 64 years.Bill was preceded in death by his sister Mary Finegan Johnston and grandsons, Korey William Efaw and Ryan Hastings.The loving father of his 3 daughters, Susan M. Finegan Efaw and her husband Douglas of Guilderland Center, NY; Kathryn A. Finegan and Tom Milione of Las Vegas, NV; Sharon E. Finegan Terry, and her husband Kenneth O., of Morrisville, PA. In addition to his daughters Bill is survived by his brothers, James Finegan and his wife Harriet, of Villanova, PA; Paul Finegan and his wife Virginia, of Asheville, NC; one sister Winifred Finegan of Omaha, NE. Poppy was the devoted grandfather to six grandchildren, Kevin Efaw and wife Darci, Kasey Efaw and wife Melanie, Kelly Dodge and husband David, Farrah Hastings, Shana Hastings and Matthew Hansen, Kenny Terry and Kelly Locke. And, a great-grandfather to Gabrielle, Davy, Natalie, Cole, Riley, Braedyn, Kyle, Caelan, Carsyn and Julia.Funeral services will be held at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday at 11:00 A.M. for services.The family wishes to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff members at St. Mary Medical Center, Team MS1C and Chandler Hall Hospice.In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have memorial contributions made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
