William Robert Kenner, Sr. (Bill), a stalwart of strength and creativity, quietly passed from this world on December 5, 2024, in the comforting embrace of his home in Levittown, Pennsylvania. He graced this life for 92 remarkable years, having been born on October 14, 1932, in the charming town of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
A proud Navy veteran, Bill dedicated over 40 years of his life to crafting and shaping spaces as a general contractor with BECO Kitchen and Bath, etching his mark on the homes of Morrisville with rugged skill and a meticulous eye for detail. His hands, which had once wielded tools of trade, were equally adept at assembling model planes, a hobby that soared as high as his imagination. He found joy in the simplicity of life’s puzzles, whether it was solving intricate jigsaw pieces or delving into the satisfaction of word search challenges. An enthusiastic coin collector, he immersed himself in the history each piece held, fostering an ever-growing collection that mirrored his adventurous spirit.
William's family was the canvas upon which he painted the legacy of love and laughter. He leaves behind his devoted daughters, Diane Elrath (Drew); Georgetta Yurgel and her fiancé Jim Painter, each of whom carries forward his values and warmth. He was a cherished brother to Tom and Carol Kenner, a bond that weathered the trials of time. William’s legacy continues to thrive in the hearts of his four beloved grandchildren: Andrew Elrath (Anna), Kyle Elrath (Alexis), Alison Elrath, and Jessica Yurgel and her husband Josh, along with great-grandchildren Teddy, Lucy and Russell, who will forever treasure the memories shaped by their grandfather’s boundless affection.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Catherine P. Kenner (Pat), whose absence resonates deeply within the cherished remembrances they created together. William was also preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Kenner and Amy Henry Kenner and his son William Robert Kenner, Jr.
As we remember William, let us celebrate a life defined by commitment, creativity, and cherished family bonds. His spirit will remain an indelible part of those who knew him, echoing in the laughter of children, the joyous chaos of family gatherings, and the quiet moments of reflection that honor a life lived vigorously and lovingly.
His services with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA will be announced shortly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a memorial contribution, in William's name, to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel.
