William Lawrence Muckelroy Sr.

William “Bill” L. Muckelroy, age 76 of Newtown, PA passed away peacefully on August 18, 2022.

Born in Los Angeles, CA at end of WWII and raised in Longview, Texas, he completed preparatory education in physics at National Science Foundation Honors Institute at the University of Michigan in 1963. He went on to earn a B.A. in Mathematics from University of Texas in 1967, a Master of Science in Physics from American University in 1970 and completed his legal education at American University earning a Juris Doctorate in Law in 1974. He was admitted to the New Jersey and Washington D.C. bars in 1975 and was a practicing patent attorney for more than 40 years. Prior to entering the legal profession, he was employed as an engineering physicist in electronics by Harry Diamond Laboratories, a research and development division of the U.S. Department of Defense, where he received 7 patents. Additionally, he worked at Litton Industries, RCA Corp, and Dow Chemical as a physicist and patent attorney prior to establishing his private practice.

When not working, he enjoyed world travel, financial investing, playing chess, numismatics, snorkeling, and scuba diving. William also was an avid fan of James Bond books and movies, Western movies, and country music which he enjoyed his entire life. William also enjoyed driving his collection of MercedesBenz vehicles on the weekends and would never miss an opportunity to stop for his favorite treat, ice cream.

Son of the late John T. and Josie M. Muckelroy, William is survived by his loving wife, Nino Muckelroy, his children, and grandchildren: son William Muckelroy II and wife Lore and their children Donovan and Josie, daughter Heather Muckelroy and partner Drew and their daughter Jordin, and son William L. Muckelroy III.

Services for Mr. Muckelroy will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
