William H. Planeta

William H. Planeta, age 69, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. Born in Manhattan, Mr. Planeta lived in Astoria, NY before moving to Morrisville in 1966, when he began his 30 year career as an electrical engineer with U.S. Steel.He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Morrisville, and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3673. Mr. Planeta was an avid golfer, belonging to the Hillsboro Country Club in New Jersey, and the Le Portage Golf Club in Nova Scotia, where he loved to stay in his beautiful vacation home. He was also a ham radio enthusiast, liked folk music and doo-wop oldies, and enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies.Son of the late Henry and Caroline (Jantos) Planeta, he is survived by his fiancée of 40 years, Susan Scalia of Yardley, and several distant cousins.All are invited to attend his funeral mass at 11 AM on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.Friends may call Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W.
