William G. "Jerry" Yorty

William G. “Jerry” Yorty, age 94 of Levittown, Bristol Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022 at his home.  Born in Bristol, PA, Jerry was a lifelong Lower Bucks resident.

Mr. Yorty was a graduate of Bristol High School, and worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors Fisher Guide Division in Trenton for 35 years before retiring in 1983.  A proud Navy Veteran, Jerry was a member of the John Billington VFW Post # 6495, as well aw a member of the Bracken Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.  He was also an active member of the Bristol Senior Citizens.  Jerry loved to go dancing, enjoyed playing golf for many years and was a participant in the Bucks County Senior Olympics where he medaled in swimming.

Son of the late John and Dorothy (Moss) Yorty and father of the late John A. “Jack” Yorty, Jerry is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Barbara Ann and Larry Platowsky of Langhorne and Karen Sue Yorty of Boca Raton, FL, a son William T. Yorty of Orange Park, FL, three grandchildren Nicole, Marc and David Platowsky, one granddaughter Isabella Platowsky and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA  19067, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time.

His interment with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on May 4, 2022 at 9:30 AM.
